As well as two sets of his grandparents, one of his aunts, two cousins, and special friends.
I was so thrilled to be home...to have our family together, and to begin the adventure of learning to be a family of five.

Oh, it was a GOOD month. And we're definitely in the part of 2012 when I every moment reminds me of where we were in 2011. So much to be thankful for!

It really is amazing to look back and remember all the Lord did in our time in Uganda.
On November 8...
It’s official…he’s OURS. WHOOP! And we should get the written ruling TOMORROW.

I did in fact share them on Facebook...but not everyone dear to us is on Facebook (Hi Zoo! And Opi & Omi! And Grandma & Grandpa!), and even those on Facebook don't...um...really understand how to use it? So they only see things I tag them in (Hi Renee Davis Meyerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11318183484760243141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1939416888354075900.post-16066558147884468532012-10-08T08:00:00.000-05:002012-10-08T08:00:18.055-05:00Capture Gratitude: September Through Him then, let us

Still getting caught up from my blog break... Should be back to weekly Capture Gratitude next week! If I were guessing ahead, I'd think you might see a bit of fall color in that, because the leaves are turning and I am HAPPY.

In our Kindergarten curriculum, we are on Unit 4: A is for Apple. So on Saturday, we loaded up the family and headed out to Martin's Hillside Orchard in Ceresco. On the day before I left, my dad was diagnosed with Colon cancer. Today, he has completed his treatment and surgery to put his insides all back together. He is cancer free, and looking forward to starting the school year as a healthy man again. Praise the Lord.

We had a GREAT time visiting our McCutcheon family in Minnesota last weekend... Julie (Matt's first wife, and Luke's first Mom) was a triplet, and both of her sisters live in the twin cities. We see them multiple times a year, but the was the first time we've been to MN since the summer Luke was 6. Such fun times (I love big cities. And Micah likes fireworks.
City fireworks on the 3rd...

My sister-in-law's dog. Who, like a normal dog, is totally FREAKED out by fireworks.
Aaaaand, my dog: Who we continually had to call back, as he went to chase the fireworks. Wierdo.

My older two boys have been driving me CRAZY lately. They are just on each other all the time. Luke can't walk by Tobin without messing with him in some way. And Tobin screams if Luke so much as places a finger on him. I try to keep my expectations appropriate - they are boys, and we're still in the training years. But the BICKERING. But sometimes there's just a little too much unstructured and unplanned time. When the kids have been going nuts, I've turned to our good friend Pinterest (and some of my favorite blogs) to find us something fun and easy to do. I LOVE activities that take little or no planning, and use things that we already have on hand. If you're looking for some, here are a few that worked GREATRenee Davis Meyerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11318183484760243141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1939416888354075900.post-82408972230911178242012-06-29T15:58:00.001-05:002012-06-29T16:03:47.757-05:00A day at the (children's) museum
We spent this morning at the Lincoln Children's Museum with our friends Brooke & Sarah. If you were guessing what the highlight was, any number of these things seem like they'd be a good guess:
The big red chair (which Micah was slightly afraid of...)
The rotating display this summer is CONSTRUCTION, complete with ride-on bulldozers.
Football! How cute is our little Husker!

We live an hour fromOmaha, home of the CWS, and Matt has been going with his dad since he was in high school. Matt's dad and stepmom have season tickets now, and we are so thankful for their generosity to invite and include us! Hours later, thanks to my friend Brooke, we saw this sweet face for the first time...

This is called "Frozen Fun" and boy was it!! It takes some planning ahead - but the boys enjoyed the set up as much as the end activity.
